Blurt.blog Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Blurt.blog (“Blurt”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use blurt.blog, blurtwallet.com and related domains, subdomains and services (collectively, the “Services”). Blurt is a decentralized, immutable blockchain-based social blogging platform. Content you post, vote on, comment on, or otherwise publish to the blockchain is permanently recorded and publicly visible. While we may hide certain content from our user interface for security, or due to user preference settings, it remains accessible via the blockchain, block explorers, or third-party front-ends and cannot be deleted or altered by us.
By using the Services, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service. This Policy does not apply to third-party sites or services you may access through Blurt or to information you send us outside the Services.

We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Services.

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service Providers: With trusted vendors who perform services for us (hosting, support tools, analytics, email delivery) under strict confidentiality obligations.

International Data Transfers
The Services are hosted in Europe. Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries by our service providers. Data protection laws vary by country. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), transfers are conducted using appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable law (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
Data Retention and Security
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. On-chain data is permanent by nature of the blockchain.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect information under our control. However, no system is completely secure, especially given the public nature of blockchain data. You are responsible for securing your account credentials and private keys.
In some cases we may anonymize data so it can no longer be linked to you and use it indefinitely.

- You may request deletion of off-chain personal information we hold by contacting us (subject to legal and legitimate business needs).
- On-chain actions cannot be deleted.
- You can opt out of non-essential communications.
- EU/EEA users have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Submit requests to the contact below. We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
To exercise rights or for questions, email us at [email protected]. We respond to verified requests as required by law.
Verification: We may require proof of control of your account (e.g., via posting key or other cryptographic means) to prevent unauthorized access to your data.
